FORT WORTH, TEXAS (April 16, 2024) – Four Sixes Ranch President Taylor Sheridan and his Four Sixes Ranch, along with Oscar and Grammy-winning artist and Yellowstone actor Ryan Bingham, will host a benefit in partnership with the acclaimed Hotel Drover in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards on May 6, 2024. Proceeds from the event will support those affected by two recent wildfires in the Texas panhandle.
“The Panhandle fires have devastated family, friends and fellow ranchers. It is incumbent upon all of us to help in any way possible, as we know they would do the same for us,” said Sheridan.
The largest wildfire in Texas history, the Smokehouse Creek Fire started on Feb. 26 and eventually burned more than 1 million acres in the northeastern Texas panhandle. It then spilled into the nearby Windy Deuce fire, which burned nearly 150,000 additional acres. According to officials, the SmokeHouse Creek Fire was responsible for at least two deaths, destroyed more than 500 structures and killed countless livestock. It also decimated grasslands critical to the state’s cattle ranchers.
“Our hearts are heavy for those impacted by the devastating wildfires that swept through the Texas Panhandle earlier this year,” said Craig Cavileer, managing partner, Stockyards Heritage Development Co. “As fellow Texans, we are bound by our strength and the act of coming together in difficult times to support our neighbors who reside in this area of the state’s vital ranching and agricultural communities.”
Proceeds will support the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) Disaster Relief Fund, which will be sent directly to impacted ranchers to help them rebuild.
“TSCRA and the Four Sixes Ranch have a rich history dating back nearly 150 years working alongside one another to advance and protect the stewards of land and livestock in the Southwest,” said Carl Ray Polk Jr., President of TSCRA. “We are proud to partner with Four Sixes to help ranchers and their families in the Texas Panhandle recover from these devastating wildfires and grateful for Four Sixes’ generous support of TSCRA and the Texas ranching family.”
