It’s a name that speaks for itself; Line Up Behind has not only fulfilled the vision of his name as a horse at the head of countless winning lineups, but the striking 2017 bay gelding also met the other definition – a leader others stand behind and support, and his biggest fans are the members of the Cook Family: JR, Melissa, and their girls, Georgia, Isabella, and Elizabeth.
“Calvin,” by VS Flatline and out of Shes Immortal, was purchased from Capital Quarter Horses in 2019 and has earned every bit of the Cook’s dedication since, and particularly that of JR Cook, who began showing him as a three-year-old under the guidance of Cole and Liz Baker.
“We’ve had great success with him, and this will be his fourth time at the AQHA World Show,” JR explains. “In those first three years, he’s earned five globes – three gold, two silver, and an L2 Championship.” Calvin’s back-to-back wins of the Junior Western Pleasure in 2021 and 2022 with Cole is a feat in the World Show Western Pleasure only matched by A Certain Vino in AQHA records back to 1992,” JR reveals.
Line Up Behind additionally boasts a record as a six-time Congress Champion, a ten-time NSBA/BCF Champion, and the NSBA High Point Open Horse with Cole, as well as the NSBA High Point Amateur Horse with JR.
