The name DeVencenty immediately summons images of stunning performances in the arena, and of patterns performed with athletic grace and accuracy.

Beloved exhibitors Jamie DeVencenty and her daughter, Natalia, know more than the freedom and anticipation of performing with a horse as one, however. They also know the freedom and beauty of the skies – where knowledge and precision are equally essential. In fact, all the DeVencenty family members- Rocky, Jamie, Brock, and Natalia – are deeply vested in the world of aviation.

Their passion recently inspired them to open Fly Girls Aviation, fulfilling a need for companies focusing specifically on catering to the unique needs and preferences of women aviators. Fly Girls Aviation, they explain, has established a goal “to provide a niche platform that empowers women in aviation, offering them a diversified range of apparel and gear that encompasses their femininity while putting them in the forefront of the cockpit.”

The exciting lineup of apparel and gear include items like bomber jackets and their exclusive “Fly Girls Pilot Clothing Line.”

We caught up with Jamie and Natalia to share what the public can expect from their new business, and to learn more about their aviation legacy. Read on:

 

Q: Can you give readers a brief synopsis of your family’s background in aviation?

A: In 1985, Jamie and Rocky DeVencenty took a bold step and founded Travelaire Service, a charter company renowned for its exceptional services in southern Colorado. Armed with their expertise and determination, they set off to provide unparalleled air transportation solutions to a wide range of clients. Travelaire Service soared to great heights, successfully operating Lear Jets, Cheyennes, and King Airs for an astonishing duration of close to 40 years.

Fueled by their unwavering commitment to serving communities in need, the DeVencentys launched the first air ambulance company in southern Colorado. This milestone marked a pivotal moment in the family’s aviation legacy, as their initiative brought critical medical care to remote and inaccessible regions. Their air ambulance services revolutionized emergency medical transportation, saving countless lives and earning the respect of the aviation community.

The DeVencentys broadened their horizons by owning and operating an FBO (Fixed-Base Operator) named Flower Aviation. Flower Aviation became synonymous with efficiency, reliability and the famous quick spin! Fueling a jet aircraft in less than six minutes!

Flying through the DeVencentys’ veins, the passion for aviation extended beyond Jamie and Rocky; it flowed into the hearts of their children. Rocky himself took on the role of flight instructor, imparting his extensive knowledge and expertise to Jamie, Brock, and Natalia. Each member of the DeVencenty family obtained their pilot’s license, strengthening the family bond and fostering a shared commitment to aviation.

 

Q: What inspired you to start a gear and apparel business for women/why is there a need to redefine the skies for female pilots?

A: In recent years, the aviation industry has embraced a notable transformation with an increasing number of women pursuing careers as pilots. However, we identified a distinct lack of companies focusing specifically on catering to the unique needs and preferences of these women aviators. This realization, coupled with our long-standing desire to contribute to the aviation sector, sparked our decision to begin this business. Our goal is to provide a niche platform that empowers women in aviation, offering them a diversified range of apparel and gear that encompasses their femininity while putting them in the forefront of the cockpit.

 

Q: What can future fans expect to see?

A: We are thrilled to announce our upcoming plans to constantly expand our product line to meet the evolving needs of our valued customers. As we embrace growth and innovation, we are excited to introduce our newest addition: bomber jackets. These stylish and timeless pieces will offer a blend of fashion and functionality, catering to the diverse tastes of our esteemed clientele.

Furthermore, we are delighted to unveil our exclusive “Fly Girls Pilot Clothing Line.” Designed to empower and inspire women in aviation, this collection will showcase high-quality and comfortable attire that reflects the strength and elegance of female pilots. Q: What did we miss that you’d like to include?

A: As a mother-daughter team, we are overjoyed to combine our love for flying with a thriving business venture. We have a tremendous amount of gratitude for Rocky…father and husband who is the wing beneath our wings! We humbly give thanks to our Lord and Savior for the unbreakable bond we share and the many blessings he’s bestowed upon us to pursue this endeavor together! .
