Our deepest condolences on the loss of Dont Ask Just Watch extend to Drew and Kate Emnett and family, the Yoak family, and all whose lives were touched by the loss of “Spanky.”
The 2000 APHA and PtHA Sorrel Tobiano Gelding by Dont Skip Zip and out of Jet of Gold touched many lives, earning over 3700 APHA points with his partners in his 23 years in Youth, Novice Youth, Youth Walk Trot, Amateur, Novice Amateur, and Open APHA competition, not to mention his amazing Pinto career; he was widely known for his success with his riders not only in all around competition, but particularly in Trail and Western Pleasure.
Trainer Drew Emnett had this to say about his passing:
“Today we lay to rest one of the best Paint horses to ever live. A true friend and partner, I owe much of where I am today to him. A great showmanship and trail horse. One of APHA ALL time leaders in Trail and WP. He has won way too many things for me to list. He has been a loyal partner for many years. Thank you to the Yoak family for allowing me and Kate to be the caretaker for such a magnificent animal for the last 20 years. Thank you to Spanky for all you have done for me – run free.”
