Lots of action happened at A Sudden Impulse on Sunday, April 24, 2022, as exhibitors competed in Trail, Ranch Trail, Hunter Under Saddle, Hunt Seat Equitation, Showmanship, and Halter.
One of today’s big winners of the NSBA Maturity $5000 Ltd Horse Non Pro Western Pleasure was Hillary Roberts on her young mare, Aint Nothn To It. “It’s the second time the mare has been shown,” Roberts reveals. “She stayed with me really good and was pretty autopilot; I’m really happy with her.” Roberts said they bred and raised “Irene” at Capital Quarter Horses and she’s by Machine Made and out of their Shez Immortal mare, a World and Congress Champion producer. “It looks like she’s going to do well also, and I’m looking forward to showing her a little more throughout the year!”
Another highlight from today happened when Jennifer Paul won the top two spots in NSBA Green
Junior Trail, 1st on Rockin In My Sleep owned by Emma Brown, and 2nd on Cooler In Blue owned by Kathleen Lennon.
Paul showed the four-year-old Rockin In My Sleep, “Spats,” a bit last year in trail, and he’s now really starting to come on great. “The pattern flowed really well for us, and he listened to every step I asked him to take,” she explains, and they are looking forward to continuing to show him in trail.
Her reserve horse, Cooler in Blue, she also had all last year, and showed him more in pleasure than in trail. “We started showing in trail in Florida last year in December, and then we started to show it all the time,” Paul says. “He really likes it; he shows a lot of expression, and he’s a little smaller than the other horse, and very handy and easy to maneuver through the obstacles.”
