A week from today, one of the largest Quarter Horse circuits in Ontario is scheduled to take place, the 2013 Summerama in Orangeville, Ontario. Mark Harrell Horse Shows reports that a record number of stalls have been reserved to date.
The show is scheduled for June 28-July 2nd. Judges for the first S/C 1 show will be John Boxell and Jessica Gilliam. Judges for the S/C 2 show will be Chad Evans and Sissy Anderson.
Circuit awards will be presented in every class, there will be exhibitor prize draws, and there will be an Exhibitors Party. Added money will be provided for several classes including $1,000 in Open Trail, $250 in Novice Youth Showmanship, $250 in Novice Amateur Showmanship, $250 in Select Amateur Showmanship, $250 in Junior Western Pleasure, $250 in Senior Western Pleasure, $250 in Junior Hunter Under Saddle, $250 in Senior Hunter Under Saddle, $250 in Amateur Horsemanship, and $250 in Youth 14-18 Horsemanship.
Also on the schedule is the always entertaining Pairs Horsemanship class to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation. This fun class is ridden to a set pattern, but each pair of exhibitors is encouraged to interpret the pattern “creatively.” Costumes are optional but may garner additional favor… The entry fee for this class is $10 per pair, and there will be a calcutta.
