AQHA Publicity

All AQHYA exhibitors are invited to enter the 2021 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show, slated for July 28 – August 8 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.

“We are excited to once again have the opportunity to welcome all AQHYA exhibitors to compete at the 2021 Ford Youth World since the AQHA Executive Committee waived traditional qualifying requirements due to the continued impacts of the pandemic,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “This year’s show will feature youth riders and their American Quarter Horses competing in Level 3, Adequan® Level 2 and Nutrena Level 1 classes. Exhibitors will also have the first opportunity to ride for world champion honors in two new classes, ranch trail and working hunter under saddle!”

Entry Information

AQHYA exhibitors interested in competing at the Ford Youth World will need to contact their affiliate youth adviser to enter the show, similar to previous years. Affiliate youth advisers will provide access to the online entry form and are the only means of accessing online entries for Level 3, Adequan® Level 2 and Nutrena Level 1 classes.

As a reminder, youth are required to meet affiliate requirements to compete at the show. View the list of affiliate youth advisers. Contact your youth adviser for more details on the Ford Youth World requirements and online entry options.

Performance Halter Requirements

Horses competing in performance halter at the Ford Youth World must abide by AQHA SHW365.3 for performance halter eligibility regarding having earned a Register of Merit. With the exception of racehorses that have earned an ROM, all other performance halter-eligible horses are required to enter and legitimately compete in a performance class. When showing in the performance class, exhibitors must maintain the integrity of the performance class in which they are competing. If a speed event is chosen to satisfy performance halter requirements, the time ran must be within three seconds of the fastest time, exclusive of any time penalties, in order to be considered a valid entry. Judges will adhere to AQHA Rule SHW910.5 when judging all classes, “eliminate any horse/exhibitor as an entry which he/she feels is in violation of the intent of AQHA’s prohibited conduct rules, or which he/she does not feel has legitimately attempted to exhibit the horse to the best of the horse’s ability.”
