For the first time, The Buckeye Classic has been split apart into two separate shows for 2019. For years, The Buckeye was the combination of The Little Buckeye and The Buckeye Classic shows, that were created by way of a partnership between the BWHA (Buckeye Western Horse Association) and OAQHA (Ohio Amateur Quarter Horse Association).
This year, the decision was made to hold two separate shows to allow the associations to focus on their respective goals for the events. OAQHA just held their Little Buckeye at Eden Park, Ohio, July 12-14, and was put on by way of a partnership with the Youth Equestrian Development Association (YEDA). The event consisted of a full YEDA show with the three-day, four-judge AQHA/OQHA show.
BWHA will hold its show, The BWHA Classic, at the Circle G Arena in Lewisburg, Ohio, July 19-21, 2019. The show is also a three-day, four-judge AQHA/OQHA show.
