9 Paint Horses Advance to Today’s Individual Medal Finals at World Equestrian Games

Nine talented Paints and their elite reining riders have advanced to compete for the individual gold medal at the FEI World Equestrian Games Tryon 2018, taking place at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in North Carolina. The roster of finalists includes all four members of Team USA, who took home the team gold on Wednesday night.

To qualify for the individual finals, riders must have scored within the Top 15 during the First Individual Qualifier held concurrently with the Team Competition; those not qualifying on their first ride could earn redemption by scoring in the Top 5 of the Second Individual Qualifier held Thursday, September 13.

Custom Made Gun, a 7-year-old Paint/Quarter Horse stallion, carried Team USA rider Cade McCutcheon to the top score of 229 during the team competition, and teammates Dan Huss and Ms Dreamy, an 8-year-old Paint/Quarter Horse mare, followed close behind for the second-highest score of 226.5.

The following Paint-bred competitors will advance to the Individual Medal Finals taking place Saturday, September 15:

  • Ms Dreamy/Dan Huss (226.5)—USA
  • ARC Gunnabeabigstar/Jordan Larson (225.5)—USA
  • Ruf Lil Diamond/Grischa Ludwig (223.5)—Germany
  • Blo Gun/Martin Muhlstatter (223)—Austria
  • Gunna Sassya/Mathieu Buton (222.5)—France
  • Gun At The Gate/Pierluigi Chioldo (222.5)—Italy
  • Designed With Shine/Shauna Larcombe (221.5)—Australia
  • Gunner Dun It Again/João Felipe Andrade C S Lacerda (221.5)—Brazil
