While some were enjoying Memorial Day barbecues and trips to the lake, others packed up their horse trailers and motorhomes and headed north to Lake St. Louis, Missouri for the Gateway Classic. The 4-day/6- show event took place May 24-27 and included a L1/Novice show on Memorial Day at the National Equestrian Center. Judges were Judd Paul, Butch Campbell, Patty Campbell, Lori Gordon, Kristy Starnes, Lisa Modern, and three Halter judges.

Several special events took place at the horse show, including the Solid Gold Futurity, Friday afternoon Cocktail and Appetizer Party, sponsored by the National Equestrian Center; Saturday afternoon Exhibitor Party and Ice Cream Social, sponsored by Double E Ranch- Amy Jo Erhardt and Joe Engle; Missouri Youth Pizza Party; Silent Auction; 8 added money classes; and Non Pro Hunter Derby.

EWD Rider Kelsey Weick was named the Reserve Champion High Point Independent Rider and received a Just Peachy pad from Anne Wilson.

Incredibly, each Circuit Champion at the Gateway Classic received a pair of Justin Boots. That’s hundreds of pairs of boots awarded!
