Our readers may remember the following memorial we shared just a few weeks ago, following the passing of the AQHA 7-year-old gelding, Be Won RV Machine, on January 17th, 2018. Our readers were first introduced to “Bud” when then-trainer Becky George rode him to win L2 Trail at the 2017 AQHA World Show for owner, Yvonne Robeson. Other accolades earned by Bud include a Reserve NSBA World Championship and Reserve Congress Championship in Trail, and numerous circuit championships.

Yvonne had recently relocated Bud from Texas to her home state of California to compete under the guidance of Kellie Hinely of Trendsetter Performance Horses. During their first horse show back home in California, Kellie rode Bud to be named circuit champion in Senior Trail.

Following yesterday’s announcement from AQHA that year-end points for High Point, Honor Roll, and All-Around titles are now official, we learned that Bud and Becky won the Open Senior L2 title in Trail for 2017.

Becky George shared the following message on social media. “It’s official! Bud and I won the honor roll for 2017. A once-in-a-lifetime horse! Thanks for the ride Bud, and big thanks to everyone involved in a perfect year! Here’s to you Bud. I hope you’re getting lots of Mrs. Pastures cookies in Heaven.”

In Loving Memory of Be Won RV Machine

We would like to extend our sincerest condolences to Yvonne Robeson following the sudden passing of her beloved 7-year-old gelding, Be Won RV Machine, or as he was fondly known, “Bud.”

Bud was a 7-year-old AQHA gelding by Machine Made and out of I’ll Be Dun Won It, a product of the successful Ronnie and Vickie Kent breeding program. Our readers will likely remember the horrible trailer accident that occurred in September of 2009, when the Kent family lost two of their horses, Wonit Ona RV Version and I’ll Be RV Radical, due to injuries sustained when the trailer hitch broke free. Both horses were out of the Kent’s show mare-turned-broodmare, I’ll Be Dun Won It, in addition to numerous others such as RV Won Good Version, Won Lopin RV Machine, Won Good RV Machine, RV Won Good Version, and Bud.

Sadly, Bud joined his two siblings in horse heaven on January 17, 2018 when he passed away due to heart failure.

“I don’t know which side he got it from, but he was the sweetest, most wanting-to-please horse I have ever owned,” Yvonne says. “Bud and I have been a team for over a year. My previous trainer, Becky George, helped me find him. The first time I rode him, I knew he was special!”

Yvonne explains that while Bud competed in five different events, she was most interested in Trail and Western Pleasure. During their first show as a team, they came away with a circuit championship in Trail and went on to win many more circuit awards in Trail and Western Pleasure. Yvonne’s fondest memory with Bud came with a Reserve NSBA World Championship and Reserve Congress Championship in Trail.

Becky George with Bud

We spoke with Becky George when she won L2 Senior Trail with Bud at the AQHA World Show last year. Click here to read that interview.

Yvonne had recently moved Bud from Texas to her home state of California to compete under the guidance of Kellie Hinely of Trendsetter Performance Horses. During their first show in California, Yvonne and Bud were named the circuit champions in Select Trail, and Kellie and Bud were named the circuit champions in Senior Trail.

“Since I love showing so much, I will ask Kellie to look for a new horse for me. I will never be able to replace Bud, so I’m not going to try. I’m going on a new adventure with a different partner.”

Our sincerest condolences to Yvonne, Becky, Kellie, the Kent family, and everyone associated with Bud.
