It’s time for the horse industry to rally around one of our own, an AQHA Team Wrangler member, Professional Horseman, and beloved trainer, Ryan Cottingim, who was injured in a horse-related accident that occurred on January 30th.

Thankfully, Ryan is expected to make a full recovery; however, due to the nature and extent of his injuries, the recovery timeline is anticipated to last anywhere from three to six months. Ryan has since returned home from the hospital and is facing an extended recovery period before he can return to training and showing.

We had the opportunity to chat with a member of the “Blue Crew,” Joe Whitt, to find out more. “The Blue Crew is a very tight knit bunch. We’re very concerned about him, but it has encouraged everyone to step up to the plate. It’s business as usual with the Blue Crew in the capable hands of [Ryan’s partner] Mandy Gately.”

Members of the Blue Crew have set up a GoFundMe account to assist with the medical and rehab expenses that Ryan will incur as a result of his injury.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ryan and we wish him the very best during his recovery.
