Prayers Following the Passing of THE Paul Taylor

Historically, there have always been a few requirements when visiting Pilot Point, Texas, know better to locals as Horse Country, USA. The first was always a stop to Clark’s Bar-B-Q for a plate of brisket, a side of calf fries, and a slice of coconut cream pie with mile-high meringue. Sadly destroyed in a fire in January 2016, residents are still hoping for a rebuild.

The other required stop is to Paul Taylor’s Saddle Company, a large, family-owned tack store that’s been a community beacon in Pilot Point since 1985. Sadly, the store’s namesake, the Paul Taylor, himself, passed away earlier this week.

What many might not know is that Paul started out as a livestock auctioneer in Irving, Texas. The Paul Taylor Saddle Company grew from humble beginnings back in 1957 when Paul would sell merchandise out of the back of a cargo trailer on the auction circuit. That entrepreneurial spirit blossomed into Paul Taylor Saddle Company, one of the largest family-owned, retail tack stores with wholesale accounts around the world.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Taylor family during this difficult time.
