2017 Ford AQHA Youth World Will Offer Level 2 Classes

Adequan® Level 2 classes will be offered at the 2017 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Showgiving exhibitors the chance to win Adequan® Level 2 championship titles. Adequan® Level 2 classes will be offered in a one-go-round format. Awards for Adequan® Level 2 will be awarded after each preliminary. The top-10 placings and five finalists will be awarded in each Adequan® Level 2 class. AQHA will also award the top three 13-&-Under exhibitors in both the Adequan® Level 2 and Level 3 classes.

  • Scored classes: Level 3 and Level 2 scored classes will run concurrent with the preliminary Level 3 (world championship) class.
  • Halter classes: Level 3 and Level 2 halter classes will run concurrent with the finals Level 3 (world championship) class.
  • Rail/placed classes: Level 2 rail/placed classes will be held as a one-go separate class.

To enter an Adequan® Level 2 Championships class, the Adequan® Level 2 exhibitor/horse must earn half of the Level 3 qualifying points and must be Adequan® Level 2-eligible as of January 1, 2017. Horses/exhibitors eligible for Adequan® Level 2 and Level 3 will be able to enter both levels. A separate entry fee for the Adequan® Level 2 Championships will be applied.

The Ford Youth World qualifying period is May 1, 2016 – April 30, 2017.

“The goal of AQHA leveling is to add to the value of American Quarter Horses and enhance AQHA member experiences,” said Pete Kyle, AQHA chief show officer. “With adding the Adequan®Level 2 Championships to the Ford Youth World, more horses and youth competitors are recognized for their efforts in the arena.”

The Ford Youth World is the pinnacle event for American Quarter Horse exhibitors, ages 18 and under, around the world, who must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to compete in each of the classes representing halter, English and western disciplines.
