The Best Show Horse Sale in America Just Got Better!

A new Yearling Sale Stakes program has been added to the 50th Annual Congress Super Sale to be held October 22nd in Columbus, Ohio. Since the first Congress was actually a horse show added to a horse auction, the Ohio Quarter Horse Association has made a bold move to make the Congress Super Sale more popular that ever.

In 2016, Yearling Western Pleasure Prospects entered into the Yearling Sale Stakes session of the Congress Super Sale will be eligible to compete in the 2017 Congress Super Sale Stakes 2-Year-Old Western Pleasure classes. Two divisions will be offered, one for Open riders and one for Non Pros.

A $30,000 purse is estimated for the 2017 Sale Stakes Classes if 40 horses pay the nomination fees. Sellers will only pay an additional $100 to enter their yearlings in the Sale Stakes Session of the Congress Super Sale. Buyers will pay a $250 sustaining fee to keep the horse eligible. A horse, which does not sell, can continue to be eligible by the Seller paying the full commission and the sustaining fee of $250.

“OQHA really makes sale stakes work by adding $500 for every $250 sustaining fee that’s paid for a Yearling Sale Stakes Session horse,” says Mike Jennings of Professional Horse Services, LLC, sale management company for the Congress Super Sale.

The Congress Super Sale will continue to be the best marketplace for proven show horses, prospects and breeding stock. Sellers can expose their horses to the largest crowd of buyers that attend any horse auction in the United States.

In the 2015 Congress Super Sale, 87% of the horses offered SOLD to new owners, which is very strong in any market.

To enter your horse in the Congress Super Sale, you will find an online entry form or a downloadable form on the Pro Horse Services website at www.prohorseservices.com. For more information on the All American Quarter Horse Congress go to www.quarterhorsecongress.com.

The High Selling Horse from the 2015 Congress Super Sale, at $47,500, was Batt Attitude, a 2014 mare sired by Batt Man. At the 2015 Congress, this filly was the Champion of the NSBA Open Longe Line Stakes and Reserve in the Non Pro. She was consigned to the auction by Pete Mead from Indiana and sold to Terri Smith from Michigan.

Pete Mead also topped the 2011 Congress Super Sale with Hez Plum Poison at $49,500, a yearling stallion out of the same dam as the 2015 High Seller. The 2014 High Seller at $55,000, was Im Fancy Schmancy, a yearling filly, also by Batt Man, sold by Randy and Kim Haines of Cool Winds Farm, as agent to Jeri Lockwood from Colorado. These results are a testament to the consistently strong market for Yearling Pleasure prospects offered in the Congress Super Sale.

The Super Sale is managed for the OQHA by Mike and Stephanie Jennings of Professional Horse Services, LLC, the most experienced auctions managers in the industry.
