MAGNETS PROHIBITED

In response to industry developments, the ApHC Board of Directors has agreed that the use of magnetic devices in clothing in showmanship, horsemanship, hunt seat equitation, and saddle seat equitation constitutes an unfair advantage for exhibitors and shall not be allowed at ApHC-sponsored shows (Youth World, National Show, World Show). Magnetic devices must be removed prior to competition or the exhibitor shall be disqualified. This show management rule is effective immediately.

BELLY BANDS PROHIBITED

The use of belly bands is prohibited anywhere on the show grounds at ApHC-sponsored shows (Youth World, National Show, World Show). This show management rule is effective immediately.

Please Note: Medical support bands would be allowed with the proper veterinarian documentation although they are not allowed in the show arena or paddock. They must be removed in order to exhibit the horse much like bandages must be removed in order to show. Belly bands, though created with the intention to protect horses from spur rubs among other things, are being misused to disguise abuse. For this reason, the board of directors has chosen to ban them from use on the show grounds in favor of encouraging exhibitors to use spurs responsibly or face the consequences of overuse of spurs.
