Criticism Swirling Surrounding Houston Flood Horse Rescue Last Month

An interesting story came out yesterday in the Houston Press entitled Criticism Continues About Why Horses Had to Swim For Their Lives When Cypress Trails Flooded Again. The article refers to the historic flooding that struck Houston, Texas and surrounding areas on April 18th, 2016, leaving a trail of death and destruction in its wake. Those following along on social media watched terrifying video footage of horses residing at Cypress Trails being swam to safety through the rushing floodwaters.
The article includes interviews with the owner of the Cypress Trails property, Darolyn Butler; neighbor DeDe Baxley Lanoue, who helped rescue horses from the Cypress Trails property back in June 2001 during Tropical Storm Allison; another neighbor Laura Wilson; and L.A. Kaiser, owner of neighboring Sovereign Farms who assisted with the April 2016 rescue.
