Desks in an Empty ClassroomHow would you like to earn a degree in Bloodstock and Performance Horse Management? The Royal Agricultural University in the United Kingdom has created a brand new BSc (Hons) degree within The School of Equine Management and Science. Beginning with September 2016 entry, the three-year course will focus on “challenges facing the modern performance horse by studying horse physiology, ethics and production issues that challenge high performance horses. Businesses theory and practice with particular emphasis on equine businesses will furnish students with skills particularly pertinent to the racing and performance horse industry.”

This innovative course will include visits to performance horse and racing businesses as well as 20-week work placement. In the past, former students have secured positions with the Newbury Racecourse, Blair Castle Horse Trials, Juddmonte Stud, Tattersalls, Haygain (forage health specialists), Equinome (pioneers of the speed gene test), Weatherbys (Thoroughbred breed registry), and the National Trainers Federation.
