$6,000-added AMERICANA World Cup Open Trail: Will Carolin Lenz claim the Championship once more?
Augsburg, Germany – One of the AMERICANA’s traditional highlights is the $6,000-added World Cup Open Trail which is sponsored by the Paint Horse Club Germany and AFAG Messegesellschaft this year. As always, the final of this Cup is scheduled for Sunday, September 6th. There is already one exhibitor who will not miss this class, the triple AMERICANA World Cup Open Trail Champion Carolin Lenz.
When she finished her final pattern two years ago, Carolin Lenz raised her arm cheering because she already knew nobody could top her score. Her then 10-year-old American Quarter Horse stallion Lil Freckled Playboy had presented an excellent performance scoring an incredible 151.5. It was the third time Carolin and Lil Freckled Playboy claimed the title. Aboard her A Western Melody she also took Reserve Championship honors. Altogether, Carolin Lenz has won the prestigious title seven times, as she was hard to beat at the Augsburg fairground even as a youth exhibitor.

One Competition – Four Classes= Superhorse
The $2,500-added Superhorse final, powered by Erste Westernreiter Union and Landesverband Bayern, is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2nd. It’s a tough competition consisting of four classes: Western Pleasure, Trail, Reining, and Western Riding. Two years ago, there was a tie on first place between Cathrin Dostal and Hannes Bolz. The decision of the tie judge was in favor of Cahrin Dostal. The AMERICANA Superhorse Champions of former years were Sita Stepper, Philipp Martin Haug, and Anna Limmer.
Visitors’ Favorite Extreme Trail is part of AMERICANA again
When Extreme Trail was presented at AMERICANA two years ago, this new discipline attracted a lot of attention. It was the first time that an example of a typical trail course with a hanging bridge was shown at a fair in Europe. This year, two more spectacular components will be added to the trail. The presentations will include new elements, and at various times, runs will be judged for the visitors. A judge will explain the scores and what the judge is looking for. The Extreme Trail riders are Andrea and Hardy Baumbach from the Extreme Trail Park, Herbstein, as well as Thomas Günther and Vera Delle from Pro Ride. The German Extreme Trail Association e.V. (GETA) will be present with a booth.

Last year’s AMERICANA tickets for the evening shows were sold out pretty fast – and it should be the same this time. Actually, more tickets have already been sold than at the same time of 2013 AMERICANA.
