Get ready to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Martinganza AQHA Show & Futurity!
“The show dates are April 3rd-6th, 2025, just around the corner, with great judges for the weekend: Sissy Anderson, Bruce Army, Rick Baker, Tim Finkenbinder, Buddy Fisher, Jessica Gilliam, Rhonda Replogle, Pam Scott, and Kendra Weis,” says Susan Daniels, show secretary and show organizer.
“We have an exhibitor dinner planned for Friday night, April 4th, sponsored by the EQUINE CHRONICLE! We are so excited to have reached this milestone!
With 456 available stalls at the facility, we have seven that have not been reserved or paid at this time (as of 3/24/2025). We sold out of hookups by March 1st. It should be a GREAT show and we are so happy for the EQUINE CHRONICLE to be a major sponsor of this show!”

Planning started in 2000 for the 1st show to be held in 2001. The original committee was Kenneth Johnson Sr, Founder (Deceased), and his committee consisting of Kenneth Ambrose of Martin Community College, Alvin Crandell (named the show), Ken Johnson, Jr (Deceased), Dr. Mary Murray (Deceased), Diane Phelps, Gary Phelps, Dick Richardson, Jim Rouse, Susan Rouse, and Beth Tew (stalls and many other tasks).
Pam Jackson, Steve Reams, and Paul Thurston joined later to add NSBA sanctioning and ideas to the show.
Linda Falls, Sharon Kostrova, and Connie Knight were secretaries. Lester Kostrova was the announcer and Tina Farmer Bothern was the original webmaster.
The current committee still has some of the original people on board and have added some new faces as well. Linda Falls, Jim Rouse, Susan Rouse are still on board. Colleen Anfinson, Eileen Coite, Kenneth Daniels, Susan Daniels, Robbie Haskins, Ann Jones, Denice Lawrence, Charlene Lognion, Sue Mullin, and Jason Tew are the main committee, but we have many that help with advice when we need it and are too numerous to name for fear of missing someone.
We strive to continue the legacy of the original committee each year. Our wonderful sponsors help us have a GREAT show, giving nice awards, and we can’t thank them all enough for the support we have been given over the years. Through rain, snow, sleet, and hail, we have had some tough weather when we held the show in February, but we have been able to persevere. When we were able to move the date to April in 2014, we tripled our entries! We have had much better since then! Looking forward to what this year will bring!
