2018 March to the Arch Hoping to Add to $650,000+ Lifetime Fundraising Total For Cancer Research

Everyone’s favorite charity horse show is returning to Lake St. Louis March 28-31 with the intention of loping and leading for a cure for cancer. Over the years, this annual event has helped raise over $650,000 for the cause, a large portion of which has gone to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital!

In addition to the always popular Exhibitors’ Party, Live Auction, Cancer Survivor Recognition Ceremony, and Calcutta on Thursday evening, this year’s MTTA will include six judges and two AQHA shows over four days- Wednesday-Saturday. The judges who have generously donated their time and services include Rhonda Replogle, Kelly Smith, Andrea Simons, Ron Stratton, Steve Ferguson, Lora Knelly, Lori Gordon, Larry Hansch, and Mary Luther.

Two premier classes during the event will include the $2,000 3 and Over Level 1 Horse Hunter Under Saddle and $7,500 3 and Over Level 1 Horse Open Western Pleasure.

The following nine futurity classes will have a total of $13,000 in added money.

  • $500 Green Western Pleasure
  • $1,000 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure
  • $500 Limited Open Western Pleasure
  • $500 3 and 4-Year-Old Hunter Under Saddle
  • $7,500 3 and Over Level 1 Horse Open Western Pleasure
  • $2,000 3 and Over Level 1 Horse Open Hunter Under Saddle
  • $500 3 and 4-Year-Old Non Pro Western Pleasure
  • $500 All Age Non Pro Western Pleasure
  • $500 All Age Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle

A special 100% jackpot purse will be in Trail, Western Riding, and Ranch Riding for classes that take place during the Friday/Saturday show with a $50 entry fee. A new addition this year is a $500 award, courtesy of the American Roan Horse Association, that will be presented to the highest placing roan horse in designated classes.

Halter classes will include WCHA All Breed Non Pro Yearling Gelding, Mare, and Stallion with a 100% jackpot and a WCHA EWD All Age Mare and Gelding. The Jerry Wells Memorial Champion of Champions Traveling Trophy will be presented in the Best of the Best- Open Yearlings.

High Point awards will be presented in Level 1 Youth Walk-Trot, Level 1 Youth, 13 and Under Youth, 14-18 Youth, Amateur Walk-Trot, Level 1 Amateur, Amateur, Select, Open, EWD Independent, and EWD Supported.

A new flat fee this year will be $500 and will include all AQHA class fees, office charge, AQHA processing fee, and one stall. It doesn’t include NSBA classes, shavings, RV, or warm up fees. However, there is also a new NSBA flat rate of $35 per S/C show.
