2015 AZ Sun Circuit is Set to Amaze With Schedule Changes, More Added Money, and New Classes!

Rack up the points while soaking in the sun! The 2015 Arizona Sun Circuit is only two months away. With loads of added money classes, great prizes, giveaways, free clinics, parties, and a world-class facility, it’s the perfect way to begin the show year.

Judges for the show include Russ Smith, Clark Parker, Valerie Kearns, Joe Carter, Betsy Tuckey, Marilyn Randall, Doug Allen, David Avery, Michele Pearson, Peter Morgan, Gretchen Mathes, Chris Jeter, Tom McBeath, Christina Riley, Jeff Allen, Cliff Kellmer, Elizabeth Baker, Billy Cochrane, and John Pipkin.

On Saturday the 24th, The Johns, Tobin, and Searles families will kick off the show with a free welcome dinner for all exhibitors to enjoy. While attending the party, you may get a chance to watch High School Rodeo exhibitors in the first-ever Sun Circuit combined High School Rodeo and AQHA Youth Cow Horse class. The High School Rodeo Cow Horse classes will run on the 24th and 25th. While the competition is going on, take a little extra time to shop the array of vendors in the climate controlled Markel Insurance arena.

Changes to the event for 2015 include added money classes for the NSBA Green Jr. Western Riding and Green Jr. Trail. Also, the highly anticipated Hunter Derby will be held in the Equine Chronicle arena.

The Farnam clinic series will host free clinics scheduled during the show by prominent horsemen and women.

The NRHA slate of classes will be Arizona Reining Horse Association approved. Other special offerings at this year’s show include the CINCH sponsored timed event roping with added money of $7,500 between the Open and Non Pro classes; $250 added for each judge in Ranch Horse Pleasure; $1,000 added Bella Vista Ranch All Around Cowboy Open and Amateur; $500 added Greenway Saddlery Hunter Derby; $2,000 added NSBA 3-Year-Old Western Pleasure; $500 added 3-Year-Old NSBA Non Pro Western Pleasure; $1,000 added NSBA 3-Year-Old Hunter Under Saddle; $250 added NSBA Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle; $500 added each day of day of NSBA Green Jr. Trail; and $500 added each day of NSBA Green Jr. Western Riding.

AQHA sire Mechanic will be hosting a free lunch during the show. Eric and Wendy Dunn and Smart Boons will be hosting a free dinner party along with the $10,000 added Smart Boons Open Fence Challenge and $2,500 added Non Pro Fence Challenge all in the Markel arena Saturday evening January 31st. Wrapping up the show on Sunday will be NCEA Sun Circuit Shoot Out Horsemanship challenge with riders represented from the nations top schools.

Schedule Change Update to Premium Book

1. All new for 2015, Youth High School Rodeo Cow Horse – Youth can enter this class through the High School Rodeo Association. Exhibitors who would like to compete in both the High School Rodeo Cow Horse and AQHA Youth Cow Horse will need to enter the AQHA class through the Sun Circuit show office. Entry to High School Rodeo Cow Horse is $60. Exhibitors wishing to enter both High School Rodeo Cow Horse and AQHA Youth Cow Horse will pay an additional $35 at the Sun Circuit Show Office. The AQHA Youth Cow Horse and High School Rodeo Cow Horse will run in the Markel Insurance Arena on 1/24/15 and 1/25/15. This is a change from when the Youth was previously scheduled.

2. $10,000 added Smart Boons Open Fence Challenge and $2,500 added Smart Boons Non Pro Fence Challenge have been rescheduled to Saturday 1/31/ 15. Smart Boons will also be hosting a free exhibitors party in the Markel Insurance Arena on Saturday night.

3. $2,500 added Rogers Heaven Sent Ranch Jr. Bridle Spectacular- This class has been added to the lineup of Sun Circuit classes.

4. $2,500 added Rogers Heaven Sent Ranch Sr. Bridle Spectacular- This class has been added to the lineup of Sun Circuit classes.

5. $2000 added Farnam Amateur Bridle Spectacular- This class has double the added money previously announced.

6. 11 & under Ranch Horse Pleasure – This will be a walk-trot class for exhibitors to perform a Ranch Horse pattern. This class is scheduled for Saturday 1/31/15.

7. Pleasure Driving- The Pleasure Driving classes have been rescheduled for 1/24/15 and 1/26/15. These classes will start at 7:30 am and show to four judges each time.
