2014 World Wide Paint Horse Congress
Built Ford Tough Livestock Complex
July 30-August 3rd
Two four-judge Paint-O-Ramas
3rd on 2013 APHA Top Twenty Shows
Per Casey West, Congress Chair, “Discussions at several past Congresses have involved the possibility of adding several Limited classes or a special series of classes for the limited exhibitor and the limited horse. 2014 offers the opportunity to do so, and we are staging this event Friday evening, August 1st.”
Further, stated Congress Sponsor Chair Clea Bobbitt, “Jim and Beth Buechler, along with Wade and Laura Spell, have been a part of these discussions. All recognizing there are many exhibitors, open, amateur and youth, who show at APHA regional and weekend shows, but who don’t come to the Paint Congress. The hope is this limited series of classes will encourage them to come in 2014. In fact, the 2013 Paint Congress was the last show Beth attended, so it was only natural this event be named in her honor. She loved her horses and showing at Paint shows.”
The end result is the BETH BUECHLER LIMITED SERIES for regular registered and SPB registered horses:
“We are off to a great start thanks to financial contributions from Jim and Beth’s daughter, Michelle, along with that of Spell Show Horses and clients. Champions in the two western pleasure classes will receive Phil Harris work saddles. We are working with several potential sponsors to obtain top of the line awards in the Hunter Under Saddle and Trail classes. We don’t intend to award just Champions and Reserve Champions but also Top Ten in each class. A $50 entry fee will be charged, but we are putting all the sponsorship money back into awards.”
To participate in this ‘limited’ event, during the previous three years, exhibitors or horses cannot have been APHA, AQHA, QH Congress, ApHA World or Reserve World Champions in the particular discipline (western pleasure, hunter under saddle or trail) in which they elect to show. This includes Champions or Reserve Champions in any futurities, maturities, stakes, sweepstakes or challenge classes at any of the above. Added exhibitor criteria includes non pro limited lifetime earnings cannot exceed $5,000 and open limited lifetime earnings cannot exceed $15,000.
If you are interested in becoming involved as a sponsor, contact Clea Bobbitt @ 573-375-7885 or Wade Spell @ 314-607-8615. Updates on this event will be published on www.equinechronicle.com.
