2014 Appaloosa Youth Scholarship Recipients Announced

Moscow, Idaho— The Appaloosa Youth Foundation (AYF) accepts applications for scholarships on an annual basis. Each year applications are accepted from youth who meet the specified criteria for eight different scholarships. The AYF is pleased to announce this year’s recipients in the following scholarship categories:

Territory Scholarships

A maximum of six territory scholarships may be awarded in a year. Each territory scholarship is worth a total of $1,000. Qualifying graduating high school seniors are encouraged to apply for the Territory Scholarship. The 2014 Territory Scholarship winners are as follows:

Territory I- Paige Larsen, Danube, MN

Territory II- Rachel Pozzi, Edgewood, NM

Territory IV-Sarah Perry, Palm City, FL

Territory VI- Joanne Bechaz, Clayton, NY

Continuing Education Scholarship

The Continuing Education Scholarship is available to one college student who will be continuing their education in the fall as a first or second semester sophomore. Applicants for this scholarship are required to have a GPA higher than 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, or a 3.8, or higher on a 6.0 scale during their freshman year of college. This year Continuing Education Scholarships was awarded to:

The Appaloosa Youth Association (AYA) is the youth affiliate of the Appaloosa Horse Club. Officially approved in 1981, the AYA was the first youth program developed to complement an equine breed association.
