We’re so relieved to report that a truck and trailer roll-over accident on I-40 just outside of Needles, CA. resulted in no serious injuries or fatalities. AQHA horse trainer, Nancy Renfro, was on her way from California to Oklahoma for the AQHA Youth World Show with her daughters, three dogs, and six horses in tow when a tire blowout caused her truck and trailer to flip over. Thankfully, everyone is ok, with animals only sustaining minor injuries, according to AQHA youth Cori Cansdale, whose horse was involved in the accident.
Cori’s horse, Promotional Asset, aka “Chuckie,” was headed to OKC to compete in Western performance events at the Youth World Show, alongside five others making the journey. Although that trip has since been cancelled, thankfully, he sustained only minor cuts requiring a few stitches, and he’s headed back home for a complete examination.
Doubly worrisome, however, are the fires raging across California that resulted in the evacuation of Nancy’s home yesterday. “Nancy had to have someone evacuate her house yesterday while we were dealing with the accident,” Cori says.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in the path of the California wildfires, and safe travels to everyone headed to the Youth World Show this year.
