The American Quarter Horse Association will host open and amateur working western rail classes, sponsored by Headley Quarter Horses, during the evening performance on November 6, at the 2020 AQHA World Championship Show at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.
“We are excited to add working western rail as two exhibition classes to the 2020 AQHA World Show and sincerely appreciate Headley Quarter Horses for generously sponsoring the $25,000 (cash and prizes) added to the event,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “The open and amateur working western rail stakes will reward 3-year-old or older American Quarter Horses that display the natural carriage and positive attributes of a working western horse.”
Ten thousand dollars cash will be added to each class, along with 70% of the entry fee to be paid out over 10 placings. Additionally, $5,000 in prizes will also be split between both the open and amateur classes. The entry fee will be $250 per class with late entry fee options also available. View the entry form. Cross-entering between the working western rail classes and any other western pleasure or hunter under saddle class at the AQHA World Show is not allowed. Eligibility for this class requires an entry in either open or amateur ranch riding at the AQHA World Show. View the entry information.
