Why Every Exhibitor Should Attend an AQHA Judging Seminar
It’s no secret judging and showing American Quarter Horses is a perfected art. Competitors worldwide work each day to perfect their riding position, make their reining circles rounder and train their horses to not tick a trail log.
One of the best ways to get the inside scoop on how to make your run in the show arena better is by learning firsthand how exhibitors are evaluated.
If you do, attending an AQHA educational judging seminar is your golden ticket to more success in the show pen.
The good news for you is AQHA has two educational judging seminars set for this spring:
The seminars will be conducted by AQHA Senior Director of Judges Alex Ross, AQHA Director of Shows and Professional Horsemen Patti Carter, and other leading industry professionals.
“Regardless of the class, after attending these seminars, you will make adjustments in how you exhibit your horse and/or yourself,” Ross said. “And in today’s competitive classes, minor changes that make you think like a judge can make a significant difference in your final placing.”
The April 28-30 seminar in Nashville is at the Holiday Inn Opryland/Airport. The seminar fee is $300, and the registration deadline is April 1. A special room rate will be guaranteed through March 28. Download the registration form for this seminar.
The May 16-18 seminar is at the Sheraton DFW Airport Hotel in Irving, Texas. The seminar fee is $350, and the registration deadline is April 15. A special room rate will be guaranteed through April 16. Download the registration form for the Irving seminar.
Attendees have the option to test for AQHA Specialized Level 1 judging credentials. AQHA-approved Level 1 judges are eligible to judge all Level 1 shows, Level 1 classes at any show and Rookie classes at any show. Attendees will be tested on six video classes, take an open AQHA rulebook test and take part in an interview regarding involvement in AQHA as well as judging knowledge.
Registration forms for either educational judging seminar can be returned by mail, email or fax.
