Kicking off the competition this morning at the 2016 AjPHA Youth World Show were two competitive Western Pleasure classes in the Novice Youth division. First, Isabella Applegarth rode OneSensationalCowgirl to win Novice Youth 14-18 Western Pleasure. We spoke with Isabella yesterday when she was named the World Champion in Novice Youth 14-18 Trail.
The Reserve Champion was Marla Leone with A Smashing Sensation. Third place was Amanda Nelson with Mr Verifiable. Fourth place was Ellie Becker with Too Hot To. Fifth was Beth Felker with Colorfully Hot.
In Novice Youth 13 and under Western Pleasure, Julie Fosher rode Quita Machine to a big win. Coming in Reserve was Lillian Woodruff with Huntin An Invitation. Third place was Lindsey Roth with A Magicle Moment. Fourth place was Sheldon Hehr with Innocent Sensation. Rounding out the top five was Chandler Ennis with One Sensational Diva.
In 13 and Under Western Pleasure, Renee Conklin was named the World Champion with Gotta Lotta Good. The Reserve Champion was Julie Fosher with Quita Machine. Third place was Lauren Gralla with A Sudden Legacy. Fourth was Sheldon Hehr with Innocent Sensation. Fifth was Lillian Woodruff with Huntin An Invitation.
Finally, in 14-18 Western Pleasure, the father-daughter duo of Radicalized and Optimized claimed the top two spots. Riding Radicalized was Mary Katherine Camp. Riding Optimized was Lucie Lundquist. We spoke with Mary Katherine last night after winning 14-18 Horsemanship and Lucie earlier in the week after winning 14-18 Showmanship.
Placing third was Rebecca Figueroa with Talk About Lazy. Fourth was Taylor Meckley with Sleepin It Off. Fifth was Veronica John with Pour Me A Cuervo.
