Recently, the World Conformation Horse Association celebrated the 2021 Hall of Fame Inductees. The Leading Exhibitor of Halter Horses was designated as Tommy Manion. Marguerite Ayers LeBauer was kind enough to share the video she produced for the Hall of Fame ceremony.
“While all recipients were deserving, Tommy Manion’s resume in AQHA and beyond establishes him as one of the most versatile and successful trainers in equine history,” Marguerite says. “He has earned 46 AQHA World Championships in Halter, Western Pleasure, Trail, Western Riding, and Reining. He showed such iconic Halter horses as Man in Command. In more recent history, the Manion Ranch stood legendary cutting sire, Smart Little Lena, for 35 years. The stallion was the first to capture the NCHA Triple Crown, and his offspring have earned more than $39 million.”
“Today, the Manion Family stands NCHA Horse of the year and two-time sire of NCHA Open Horse of the Year, Smooth As A Cat, whose offspring have earned in excess of $31.7 million. The Manion Ranch program is credited with more than 40 World Championships in the Cutting industry. Tommy and son, Kyle, boast the only father/son work-off in the NCHA.”
