Each year, AQHA honors breeders who have dedicated their livelihoods to maintaining the integrity of the American Quarter Horse breed. These horsemen, horsewomen and their families see their biggest accomplishments and proudest moments in the horses they breed. The honorees included one 75-year breeder, nine Legacy breeders and 17 cumulative breeders. Legacy breeders are those who have registered at least one foal for 50 consecutive years. Cumulative breeders are those who have registered at least one foal for 50 years cumulatively. View the list of breeders who were recognized and read their stories here.

In addition to the 50- and 75-year breeders, AQHA recognized the 2019 AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder of the Year Open Box Rafter Ranch of Faith, South Dakota. Nominees for the AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder of the Year award are chosen by their peers, with the winner selected by vote of the AQHA Ranching Committee. Learn more.

AQHA also honors ranches that raise outstanding ranch horses and whose horses have made contributions to the heritage of the American Quarter Horse by awarding the AQHA Best Remuda and International Best Remuda awards. A Bar Ranch of Claremore, Oklahoma, was recognized as the 2020 AQHA Best Remuda winner.

Due to current travel restrictions, representatives from the 2020 International Best Remuda, Fazenda Campanario of Laguna Carapa, Brazil, were not able to be at the banquet. Instead, they will be recognized at the AQHA Breeder Banquet during the 2022 AQHA Convention in February in Las Vegas.
