It’s often said when one horse passes, there is always another pony to love, and that immersing yourself in the love of another horse is therapeutic.
However, most horsemen also know that filling the shoes of a once-in-a-lifetime horse is difficult indeed. In 2024 when owner Todd Olsen lost One Special Asset, a 2011 bay tobiano stallion by Sacred Assets and out of Invite a Special Chip, the staff of Twin Creek Farms in Michigan (where Leggs stood from 2017-2024) knew finding another horse to fill their hearts was a daunting task.
Not only had One Special Asset produced 280 registered foals, as well as APHA, NSBA, Pinto, Color Breed Congress & Buckskin Congress World and Reserve Champions in several all-around events, when he was just six, his very first foal crop of four foals produced the 2018 #1 APHA Green Western Pleasure Horse in the Nation, Krymsum Assets.
After his passing, Leggs still landed on more than one leading sire list: 2024 #1 MPHC Fall Color Classic Futurity Stallion Payout, 2024 #1 Leading Sire for Cash For Color Stallion Payout, 2025 APHA Leading Sires List for #6 Point Earning Halter Horses, and #8 Point Earning Performance Horses.
In the tribute published on The Equine Chronicle website in Spring 2024, Todd Olsen mentioned two famous sons who were carrying on Leggs’ greatness: One And Only Asset and Watch Me Im Special. In Loving Memory of One Special Asset | Equine Chronicle
Fate seemed to steer his son, Watch Me Im Special, to stand at Twin Creek Farms under the loving guidance of Theresa Rorabaugh to carry on the legacy of his sire, One Special Asset.
The 2018 Homozygous TT/AA stallion by One Special Asset and out of Caughtchawatchinme (Youdontknowjackzip) stands 16 hands barefoot, is 7-panel N/N, is Homozygous Tobiano and Agouti, and has a stud fee of $1,000 for 2025. He is owned by Hillary Miller and Deb Howdie of HD Show Horses, Altoona, IA, but Watch Me Im Special was foaled in Michigan, and Hillary had purchased him off a 16-second video from Todd Olsen, owner of One Special Asset.
WMIS has already sired 16 foals, with limited breeding due to his flourishing show career, and his foals are eligible for Cash 4 Color, NSBA, Virginia Color Classic, MPHC Fall Futurity, and Roan 2 Riches. And reminiscent of the success of his sire’s first foal crop, he has already produced a Reserve World Champion and 3X Pinto Horse of the Year.
Many mare owners have bred to “Gibbs” in 2024, with a highly anticipated 2025 foal crop, including those from the mares at Twin Creek Farms: Obviously Lazy by Lazy Loper, owned by the original owner and breeder of One Special Asset, Cheryl Miller of Miller Paint Horses, as well as Twin Creeks Farms’ RR Only One Invited, an NSBA and Congress Champion producing mare by Invitation Only.
