Pauli and Kenny Crull of Monticello, Indiana, along with Cliff and Martha Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri, will join the APHA Hall of Fame in recognition of their lasting dedication to APHA and the Paint Horse breed. The couples will be inducted at the 2022 APHA Hall of Fame & Awards Ceremony, taking place July 1 at Whiskey Ranch in Fort Worth, Texas. Read more about these newest inductees in the March/April 2022 Paint Horse Journal.
Kenny and Pauli Crull found their paths intertwined with the fledgling Paint breed in the late 1960s, and it was through the organization that they met, married and founded Crull Paint Horses in Monticello, Indiana. In addition to owning, training, showing and breeding Paints, Kenny and Pauli were APHA ambassadors, serving as APHA state directors and advisory committee members. Pauli helped found the Amateur program and was later honored as a Distinguished Service Award winner and judge emeritus.
Cliff and Martha Johnson were always ready to lend a hand to help improve APHA, and some called them “the backbone of APHA in the Midwest.” The couple owned, bred and showed Paints, including APHA Hall of Famer Durn Scooter. They also helped found several regional Paint Horse clubs and served on many APHA committees; Cliff was also an APHA judge and state director. The Johnsons were previously honored as Distinguished Service Award winners.
