Ask anyone who’s shown for any length of time, and they’re likely to agree that not only are no two horses alike, some horses are just plain harder to get along with than others.
Some horses are tougher to clip or load on the trailer. Some get ornery or nervous in traffic. Those hard horses can lead exhibitors and trainers alike to experience frustration both in and out of the show pen.
Surprisingly, though, some people say that the “hard horses” are often the most rewarding; once you can figure out their quirks, that is.
