Last week, AQHA released the news that disciplinary action was conducted against members, Mozaun and Sarah McKibben, as a result of four horses testing positive for prohibited substance, guanabenz, at the 2017 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show. The disciplinary action involved disqualification and stripping of titles earned during the event, a $10,000 fine for Mozaun, suspension of 18 months and a five-year probation, and revocation of his AQHA Professional Horseman status. Sarah received a one-year suspension, five-year probation, and a $3,000 fine.
Recently, Quarter Horse News reached out to the couple, who provided a statement denying the use of any banned drug during the World Show.
