The Hudson Family Purchases Multiple World Champion Ms ExtremelyHotChips

Congratulations to the Hudson Family, who just welcomed Ms ExtremelyHotChips, aka “Mia,” to their family!

The 2018 brown mare by Extremely Hot Chips and out of Ms Flashy Goodbar, previously owned by MC’s Dragon Ranch and Sid Karr, made a big name for herself over the last two years as a Bronze winner in the 2 Year Old Open Western Pleasure with Sara Simons, followed by a stunning trail career as a 4 Year Old.

Noteworthy Trail titles with Sara Simons, to name a few, include a 252.5 score in the First Year Green Trail Class at the 2022 NSBA World Show, and a World Championship in both the L1 Trail Stakes (the third time Sara has won the class) and the L3 Junior Trail at the 2022 AQHA World Show.

“She’s won everywhere she has been shown in the Trail,” says Sara Simons, “which is pretty amazing considering she’s only four.”

Her ability as a young horse to fulfill dreams and the promise of an all-around career was further proven with a 2022 Reserve AQHA World Championship in Amateur Select Showmanship with Sid Karr.

Mia’s new partner, Natalie Hudson, currently shows Hot Ovations in the Youth 14-18 Western All Around under the guidance of Reid Thomas. “She is excited to have the opportunity to show two horses in Trail, her favorite class,” says Natalie’s mom, Ann Hudson.  “With the addition of Mia, she now has the opportunity to add other events to her résumé for the last four years of her youth career.”

Sara explains Mia will be a great fit for the program at Reid Thomas Performance Horses, since she’s a contender for the All-Around.  “I’m proud of all her success and grateful for the opportunity Marylyn Caliendo gave her to have such a wonderful year.”

Natalie has watched Mia show for years and has loved everything about her. “It was love at first sight!” exclaims Natalie.  “I can’t wait to be able to learn and show more events with her. Thank you to Sara Simons, Marylyn Caliendo, and Sid Karr for giving us the opportunity to own such a special horse!”

Sid Karr says he’s super happy for the Hudson Family on the purchase of Mia.  “This horse brought so much joy and excitement to my life this year and we accomplished goals dreams are made of.  A special thank you to Sara Simons and the Caliendo Family for a fantastic year that we set out for!! As they enter a promising future with an amazing mare named Mia, the Hudson Family knew this famous quote by Sir Winston Churchill summed up their time ahead perfectly:  “When you are on a great horse, you have the best seat you will ever have.”
