The AQHA booth will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and located in Horse Haven Stables in the Agriculture Barns. Be sure to stop by the AQHA booth to get your AQHA-related questions answered.
The 10-day festival spotlights the western heritage and values through daily rodeos, chuckwagon races, multiple equine events and one of Canada’s largest music festivals, featuring county performances by Shania Twain, Reba McIntyre, Keith Urban and more artists on stages across Stampede Park.
This year will be unlike any other year at Stampede Park for AQHA members and all horse lovers with the opening of the Agrium Western Event Centre, the new home of western events and competitions, horse performances and sustainable agriculture education on Stampede Park. The state-of-the-art 150,000-square-foot venue has been tailored for the needs of animals and designed to host national and international shows.
The centerpiece 2,500-person arena has already attracted a variety of equine events and championships throughout the year, including team penning, team roping, rodeo, show jumping, a horsemanship conference and horse breed shows.
During Stampede time in July, the Agrium Centre’s arena and multi-purpose exhibition hall comes alive with a spectrum of events, most notably the Calgary Stampede Mercuria National Cutting Horse Association World Series of Cutting and the Calgary Stampede Working Cow Horse Classic, presented by Tesla Exploration Ltd.
The Stampede’s 42nd annual Mercuria NCHA World Series of Cutting will be a highlight in the Agrium Centre during the Stampede on July 7-9, with $50,000 in added money and a new $10,000 bonus prize in each of the open and non-pro divisions. The following two days, July 10 and 11, the Agrium Centre comes alive for the Stampede’s 14th annual Working Cow Horse Classic, which includes both reined work and fence work, with $25,000 in added money.
