The 5th Annual Highpoint Performance Horses Stallion Showcase and Open House took place on Saturday October 29, 2022.

Each year, owners Jason Martin and Charlie Cole, along with Breeding Manager Christi Christensen, open up the private facility in Pilot Point, Texas, to showcase their world class stallions and to share the exotic pets that reside there.  Their passion for all animals and for sharing them with others was evident due to the care shown at the event, which also offered food trucks, vendors, and a live band, too.

Jason Martin explains, “The open house and stallion showcase allows breeders to see these stallions in real flesh and allows us to get to personally meet our breeders. We also get to open up our ranch to the public and give them a tour of our facility and animals. It gets bigger every year with this year being the biggest with over 1200 visitors! It’s definitely something we look forward to doing each year!”

Slick By Design, a $3.38 Million Dollar Sire, was one of the many stallions to visit!

Texas Resident Tracey McCarthy attended for the first time this year, and she had this to say about the stallion showcase: “We were so impressed by the group of stallions they are standing there. Every one of them was represented so well. We got to talk to NFR champion Patrick Smith who was there representing his stallion, Rooster. NFR champion Sherry Cervi was also there representing her stallion and talking to people.”

The hospitality the event has become known for was also evident to McCarthy and her group.  “Highpoint is kind of magical with the giraffes and other animals. I got to pet one of the giraffes that came over,” she says.  “Jason and Charlie were so gracious answering questions from everyone and they are so knowledgeable about their exotics. My husband and I were so impressed with what Jason and Charlie have built at their ranch.  From the food trucks to the music to the ranch itself, the attention to detail was very evident. Highpoint’s Breeding Manager Christi was great to talk to and very helpful. If someone asked me about a stallion to breed to, I would certainly send them to check out their stallion roster. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent there.”

Charlie Cole explains they were also thankful the weather cooperated and for the huge turnout to see the stallions and exotics of Highpoint.  “It was a lot of fun and we look forward to adding new improvements for next year!”
