The American Quarter Horse Association Political Action Committee is hosting a live auction during the AQHA President’s Reception, sponsored by the City of Fort Worth and Will Rogers Memorial Center, on Friday, March 19, at the 2021 AQHA Convention in San Antonio. The president’s reception will be hosted outdoors, and attendees are required to abide by the 2021 AQHA Convention Health Protocols.

AQHAPAC will also host an online auction March 17-21 at www.internethorseauctions.com. Bidding for the online auction opens at 8 a.m. Central on Wednesday, March 17, and closes at 5 p.m. Central on Sunday, March 21.

The AQHAPAC live and online auctions will help raise money to contribute to campaigns of the members of Congress who support the horse industry. The AQHAPAC ensures that the American Quarter Horse Association’s voice is heard in Washington, D.C. Equine industry issues are as diverse as the people who own horses. A sampling of items to be auctioned online include a Terry Bradshaw-autographed football, National Reining Horse Association Futurity package, silver Greg Darnell bit and a Mikel Donahue print.

About AQHAPAC

AQHAPAC was founded in 2005 by the AQHA Public Policy Committee and is one way AQHA makes an impact in Washington, D.C. AQHAPAC, a separate entity from the Association, relies on individual contributions for funding. In turn, it makes contributions to political candidates who support AQHA and horse industry issues. AQHAPAC is a way for AQHA members to raise money to make a greater financial impact with candidates.

Having the ability to successfully fight for the rights of America’s horse-owning public is critical. Our issues are as diverse as the people who own horses. Favorable tax legislation, disaster relief for horse owners, land-use issues, veterinary care and medication topics, interstate race wagering and simulcasting, and proactive animal welfare are just some of the areas in which AQHAPAC makes a difference.

AQHAPAC’s efforts, combined with strong grassroots efforts of AQHA members like you and other horse owners at the state level, help keep horse activities one of the most robust industries in the United States, with a direct economic effect on the U.S. of $50 billion annually.

Contributions to the AQHAPAC are strictly voluntary; any suggested contribution amount is merely a suggestion and you should feel free to contribute more or less, or not at all, and you have the right to refuse to contribute without reprisal. Contributions to the AQHAPAC are not deductible for federal income tax purposes as charitable contributions.
