If you’re a top AQHA competitor, Wilmington, Ohio was definitely the place to be! With exceptional numbers, incredible prizes, and plenty of new, added money classes, the Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association Madness surpassed all expectations delivering an event that will be talked about for weeks to come.

Judging the five-day event were Danielle Burns, Elizabeth Baker, Buddy Fisher, Tom Robertson, Mike Hay, and Kim Myers. Check out some of the largest class sizes.

Two of the main events during the show were the Equine Chronicle 3 and Over Novice Horse Western Pleasure and Equine Chronicle 3 and Over Maiden Western Pleasure. Steve Reams rode The Dark Impulse to win the Novice Horse Western Pleasure and $17,000 for new owner, Joanie Zelnio. Click here for class results. Aaron Moses and Katy Jo Zuidema were named the Co-Champions in the Maiden Western Pleasure, each earning $11,250 for owners, Starland Ranch, LLC and Candace Edgerton, respectively. In addition, there was a number of NSBA futurities with added money. The Champion in Green Trail was Carly Veldman Parks with Check Required, winning $790 for Cynthia Figueroa. The 3-Year-Old Limited Open Western Pleasure winner was Houston Huff with KM Cheerstothebest, winning $730 for Masterson Farms, LLC. Angie Rigdon Cannizzaro rode The Production Line to win $1,280 for Mary Jo and Dwain Gold in Maturity $10,000 Limited Horse Open Western Pleasure. Katie Green rode KM Flat Out The Best and $740 for Susie Johns in 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure.

Dawn Baker rode Just Kruzin to win $220 in Green Hunter Under Saddle for Jennifer Bennett. Tommy Sheets rode Ima Tuff Barpasser to win $1,050 in $1,500 Senior Trail for Caroline Fredenburg. Kristen Galyean won $1,365 in 3-Year-Old Non Pro Western Pleasure. Jacob Hartman rode Ima Blazing Hot Chip to win $870 in $2,500 Limited Rider/$2,500 Limited Horse Western Pleasure. Dawn Baker and Without Permission received $550 for winning 3-Year-Old Open Hunter Under Saddle for Joanne Taylor.
