Snap Krackle Pop Makes History Winning Back-to-Back Superhorse Titles at 2016 AQHA World

During the past two weeks, the top exhibitors and horses from around the world competed at the 2016 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. The 2016 Farnam Superhorse Award is the top honor at the Lucas Oil World. It is awarded to the horse that earns the most points in three or more Level 3 events in three categories during the show.

This year, 26 contenders competed for the Farnam Superhorse Award. A Superhorse has not earned a back-to-back title in 15 years, but the 2016 winner broke that streak and is also the first mare to win multiple Superhorse titles.

Snap Krackle Pop, who is owned by Twylla Lynn Brown of Perry, Missouri, was crowned the 2016 Farnam Superhorse. The 2010 gray mare by RL Best Of Sudden and out of Brandys Silver Sheik was bred by Masterson Farms LLC of Somerville, Tennessee. Snap Krackle Pop was shown by AQHA Professional Horsemen Kendra and Blake Weis of Moberly, Missouri. The team earned a total of 34 points. Snap Krackle Pop won the reserve world champion title in senior western riding, placed fifth in senior western pleasure, seventh in senior trail and 10th in performance halter mares.

“Brandi” and her connections received $25,000, plus $2,000 of Farnam product, an original Lisa Perry bronze and a rose bouquet.

Dancin N The Dirt, owned by Natalie Vargo of Plain City, Ohio, was the Reserve Farnam Superhorse. The 2011 bay gelding by Hot N Blazing and out of Caught You Dancin was bred by AQHA Professional Horsewoman Leslie Vagneur Lange of Greeley, Colorado. Dancin N The Dirt was shown by Lange, Chuck Briggs of Azle, Texas, and Brian Holmes of Purcell, Oklahoma. The team earned a total of 31 points with the reserve championship titles in junior working hunter and junior pleasure driving, and fourth place in junior hunter under saddle and ninth in junior hunter hack.

The Reserve Farnam Superhorse received a prize package that includes $10,000, plus $1,000 in Farnam product.

Placing third was DT Elenor Shine Whiz, who is owned by George Strait of San Antonio. The 2011 chestnut mare by Shiners Lena Chex and out of Slynking Sugar Whiz was bred by Canyon Horse Sales LLC of Bend, Oregon. DT Elenor Shine Whiz was shown by AQHA Professional Horseman J.D. Yates of Pueblo, Colorado; Dustin Rogers of Pueblo, Colorado; and Kimberly Leiter of Martin, Tennessee. The team earned a total of 22 points by earning the world championship title in junior heading and placing eighth in junior tie-down roping.

Placing fourth in the Superhorse race was Tommy Boon, who is owned by Wayne Hanson of Creston, Iowa. The 2011 sorrel mare by Thomas E Hughes and out of Chitas Blue Boon was bred by Kobie D. Wood of Stephenville, Texas. Tommy Boon was shown by AQHA Professional Horseman Luke Jones of Allerton, Iowa, and Joy Wargo of Collinsville, Texas. The team earned 20 points by placing fourth in junior heading, seventh in junior tie-down roping, ninth in junior pole bending and 10th in junior working cow horse.

Placing fifth was BFR Igniting Sparks, who is owned by Beechfork Ranch of Weatherford, Texas. The 2009 palomino stallion by Shining Spark and out of Sliden Wright By was bred by G. Scott Gaddy of Clements, California. BFR Igniting Sparks was shown by J.D. Yates and Dustin Rogers. The team earned 19 points by earning the world championship title in senior heeling.

The third- through fifth-place Farnam Superhorses each receive $2,500 plus $500 in Farnam Product.
