Shannon Curl and Chris Holbin Join Forces in Nebraska With New Venture

Newly married couple, Shannon Curl and Chris Holbin, are embarking on another journey with a joint venture that will be based out of Bill and Cindy Cosentino’s facility in Omaha, Nebraska. Previously having the opportunity to work for industry greats like Rusty Green Show Horses and Circle S Ranch, Shannon and Chris, respectively, will bring their combined talents from the Western Pleasure and All-Around worlds to create a well-rounded operation committed to furthering talent of young Western Pleasure Futurity prospects as well as having a distinct focus on Western Riding and Trail.

“I’ve loved living in Texas, but we wanted to get established in an area that isn’t quite so over-flooded with trainers,” Shannon says. “Bill and Cindy contacted me to let us know that their facility has been sitting open for a while, and they wanted someone to come work out of there. Bill was very convincing with information about the number of horses in the area. I’ve known of Bill and Cindy for some time, but lately I’ve been able to get to know what outstanding people they are.”

Holbin Show Horses will be setting up shop in a recently renovated facility complete with a 28 stall barn, 120 x 160 indoor heated arena, 120 x 150 outdoor arena, covered round pen, hot walker, and paddocks. “We will be moving after the holiday season and taking horses up there in January.”

“The good thing about being up there is that we’re 30 minutes from Lincoln, Nebraska, which has a weekend horse show starting in April that goes through the rest of the year. It will be nice to go weekend horse showing again. Also, we’re close to Ohio, which has some fantastic horse shows.” On the Holbins’ list of shows for 2019 are events like the Prairie Classic, Arizona Sun Circuit, The Madness, Tom Powers Futurity, other major futurities, World Shows, and the Congress.

Shannon hopes to continue her focus on two and three-year-old Futurity Western Pleasure prospects and wants to get Chris in the arena as a Limited rider in the not-so-distant future. They are hopeful to gain new youth and amateur clients as well.
