With the help of some dedicated APHA sponsors, two lucky Amateur competitors walked away with incredible prizes September 25 at the 2018 APHA World Championship Show, just by entering Amateur classes at the show!
APHA World Show Sponsor Harris Leather & Silverworks created a custom APHA Western performance saddle as part of the giveaway. Entry into select Amateur classes automatically placed competitors into the drawing. Scott Woodall of Edmond, Oklahoma, was the lucky winner—no doubt he will be the envy of the arena as he rides in on his gorgeous new custom show saddle.
APHA Corporate Partner Cowboy Trailer Sales, in conjunction with Platinum Trailers, provided a beautiful three-horse slant gooseneck trailer customized with APHA branding. Every entry into any Amateur class at the 2018 World Show placed competitors into the drawing. Denise Vick of Taylorsville, North Carolina, was stunned when her name was announced as the winner—excitement uncontained, she ran down to the arena with shrieks of joy!
Denise had a rough World Show when her homebred 2003 bay solid gelding KDV Hip To Zip came up lame after they arrived, but she still had a great time making new friends. Going home with a brand-new Platinum trailer certainly helped put a smile on her face.
“It hasn’t quite set in yet, but it sure relieved some of the pain from how hard we’ve had it at this year’s show,” Denise said. “And though it has served me well, I will now happily be retiring my 24-year-old trailer! Thank you so much, APHA!”
Jealous? Get your Amateur entries earmarked for the 2019 APHA World Championship Show because we’ll be giving another trailer away—you just might be the next person to “come on down” and claim your loot!
Special thanks to Harris Leather & Silverworks, Cowboy Trailer Sales and Platinum Trailers for helping to make the 2018 World Show one to remember.
