Safety Doesn’t Need to be Boring!

Fallon_Taylor_Sunset_SerapeTroxel LLC, the worldwide leader in ASTM/SEI-certified equestrian helmets, announced today that they’ll be releasing seven new graphics in their popular Fallon Taylor helmet collection.

Taylor, a 2014 National Finals Rodeo (NFR) World Champion, first partnered with Troxel in 2015 to launch her signature line of equestrian helmets. A former model and actress, Taylor shocked onlookers when she emerged in the third round of the NFR in 2014 wearing a helmet and became the first NFR champion to win while sporting the safety gear. Taylor has been helping pave the way for helmet acceptance on the rodeo circuit ever since, a sport where cowboy hats are heavily favored over safety helmets.

“The outpouring of support has been amazing!” said Fallon. “I constantly hear from fans that they were afraid to wear a helmet for fear of being judged by their peers and that I inspired them to change. I’m thrilled to give riders even more options to stay safe in the saddle by expanding my collection with the Troxel team!”

The helmets have a gloss finish – the Turquoise Floral features a Matte Duratec™ finish – and come equipped with Troxel’s DialFit system, breathable mesh-covered vents and fun animal print headliners. “We worked very closely with Fallon to design the new line,” said Troxel CEO, Shay Timms. “She’s had such a positive impact on hundreds of athletes and we’re excited to provide riders the option to wear helmets designed with her signature touch.”

Helmet awareness is an important and personal crusade for Taylor who suffered a broken neck after getting bucked off a horse in 2009. She sustained a four-place skull fracture, broke numerous facial bones and broke her C-2 vertebrae—the same injury that paralyzed late actor Christopher Reeve—from the accident. While she’s made a complete recovery, Fallon still suffers from migraines and short-term memory loss and has had to make adjustments to continue her riding career, including wearing a safety helmet. “After having my head shaved and four screws [inserted] into my skull, I quickly realized that I would look cooler in a helmet than I did leaving the hospital!” said Taylor.
