Ross Roark brought the stands to Attencion this afternoon when he led Scott and Kelly Trahan’s striking stallion to a win in Aged Stallions at the 2013 AQHA World Show. Attencion is by The Top Secret and out of Pretty Nifty Mister. He was bred by Clark Rassi Quarter Horses.
The Trahan family’s stallion is a new purchase, and they are anxiously looking forward to his first year of breeding in 2014 when he will stand at Chris Arentsen Quarter Horses in Trenton, Illinois. Scott Trahan purchased Attencion just three weeks ago under the advisement of Milan Quarter Horses trainer, Tyler O’Neal.
“He already has Very Cool, who is an N/N stallion, and he also wanted an N/H stallion,” O’Neal says. “He also wanted a horse that had a very correct frame and a pedigree with a background that could go on and produce the same. He has been with Clark Rassi Quarter Horses, and his trainer has been Hugo Rodriguez.”
At the lead of Attencion this afternoon was professional horseman, Ross Roark. Both O’Neal and soon-to-be stallion manager, Chris Arentsen, were very pleased with the pair’s performance in the pen today.
“He’s a true show horse,” O’Neal says. “He went out there and never moved. He had his ears up the whole time, and he showed like a shot dog.”
“Scott is ecstatic. He’s very, very excited. This is his first horse to win the World. He was hoping for this, but not expecting it. Milan Quarter Horses is looking forward to seeing some exciting things come out of this horse from the breeding barn in the future. We hope he will pass on the correctness that he has himself, as well as his eye appeal.”
