Trainer Jake Hartman and his wife, Ali, entered the Novice Amateur Pleasure at last year’s All American Quarter Horse Congress.
“We ended up fourth overall and had the best time, and you would have thought by all of their reactions that I won the biggest Futurity on the planet. I laughed so hard at their reaction, and I have never felt more supported in my life than at that moment. It was truly my favorite horse show memory to date! It was a true example of what showing is all about – being there for one another, building friendships that become family, and enjoying it for the love of the sport, not the prize or the class.”
For Ali, she believes it takes an exceptional trainer to be able to help their wife. “Jake does it with patience, respect, and determination.
