Randall Roser is an Amateur exhibitor who has been showing for 26 years. He started to show in open divisions and 4-H. Then, he moved on to showing in AQHA and now color breeds. Roser recalls his first show, winning showmanship and having a champion mare. “I think, just like for any kid starting out, the thrill of winning is what gets you hooked,” Roser said.
Roser shows two horses: IB Approved to Cruise, aka “Bucky,” an overo buckskin; and IB the Broker, aka “Rascal,” a sorrel overo. Both horses were bred from IB Intensified. Bucky, a typical mare that loves showmanship, is a five time World and Reserve World Champion and winner of the first Zone Invitational at the 2011 World Show. Rascal, a halter gelding, has been in the top five at the World Show. Now, Roser competes at PtHA and APHA shows in Florida.
“Most shows in Florida are PtHA and APHA combined, which is an amazing idea,” Roser said. “The clubs work fantastic together, and it’s a great way to support national organizations.” Two things Roser loves about showing horses are meeting new people and enjoying the competition. “Showing horses that were bred, born, and raised by the family is the icing on the cake,” Roser said.
