#1- What’s your name? Abby Wilcox
#2- How old are you? 16 years old
#3- Where do you live? Dade City, Florida
#4- What’s your Pinto’s name? Mater
#5- How long have you been showing? Abby has been showing at the breed level for three years but has been riding for eight years.
#6- What do you like most about showing your Pinto? Abby likes the versatility of the Pinto and the ability to show in a variety of different classes. She also likes meeting new people while showing Pintos at the local level as well as at the Pinto World Show in 2016.
#7- What’s your favorite class to compete in? Why? “I just love Trail. Trail always presents different patterns and obstacles. It makes me really think about how Mater and I are going to ride through the pattern. I like that Trail makes me think about where I should go and how I’m always striving for the great pattern.”
#8- What’s the funniest thing your Pinto has done? “Mater’s tack stall is right next to the door to the tack room, and he likes to close the tack room door with his nose. He really likes to torment people who come to the barn to drop the feed off. Every time they open the door, he decides to close it for them.”
#9- What’s your favorite activity or sport outside of showing Pintos? Abby enjoys photography. When she’s not riding at the shows, you can typically find her taking pictures of horses.
#10- What do you want to be when you get older? “I think that I will always want to be involved with horses, but I also like helping people. I think that my desire to help others may lead me to do something in the medical field, like become a pharmacist.”
