The first portion of the Georgia On My Mind dual circuit kicked off April 7-10th in Conyers, GA with the Henry County Horseman’s Association of Georgia Stock Show. Click here for results and photos from that event. With five complete shows and judges, Garth Gooding, Shaun Duley-Gloude, Tyler Crouse, Beckey Schooler, and Suzy Jeane officiating, the event racked up a whopping 4,600 entries across all divisions and all judges. The new schedule, location, and partnership with the Pro-Am Circuit did wonders to boost both shows in 2018.
The second portion of the event was the Pro-Am Circuit that took place April 13-15 with judges, Chad Evans, Robin Frid, Brad Kearns, Jennifer Leckey, Judd Paul, Robin Griggs, Stephen Stephens, Rick Christy, and Pam Scott, determining the champions. Numbers remained strong during the second weekend- 4,200 across all divisions for four shows.
The main event of the Pro-Am was the Kim Rich Memorial Open Green Western Pleasure Stakes, which boasted a $5,000 check for the winner. The Reserve Champion and recipient of $280 was Jay Starnes with Million To 1 for Nettie Olsen. Third was Cleve Wells with Mister White for Linda Ball Sargent, winning $210.
