For many years, the edgy graphics and modern take on active lifestyle apparel of Good Ride Life, LLC has endured as a perennial favorite among the horse show crowd. Now, there are some changes on the horizon for this popular company, with a new ownership team taking hold of the reins, Terina and Brian Johnson of Washington Court House, Ohio.
“We heard about this through the grapevine, and we got together with Ronnie and Hannah Casper and Todd and Lisa Neiberger,” Terina Johnson says. “We were talking about this opportunity, and it actually just became final a few weeks ago. We’re very excited about this new venture, and they will be helping us out a bit to make sure the transition will be a smooth one. Brian and I will also be doing this with the help of Judd and Jennifer Paul; they’re kind of our mentors through this process.”
Die-hard Good Ride fans, never fear! The Johnson family plans to continue with the tradition of providing high quality, impeccably crafted apparel and accessories featuring the well-loved Good Ride tagline, “Life’s A Ride… Make It A Good One!” They even have plans to expand upon the company’s custom show shirt line.
“We want to continue with the button-up, show shirt line and hope to move more into custom [apparel], where people can pick out their own colors,” she says. “We will continue with the other apparel to keep up with trends.”
“The Quarter Horse Congress is our first big venture being Good Ride owners. We will be there the whole month, and we will be with Allie’s Uptown Boutique for the AQHA World Show. Then, we will hit the NRHA Futurity, so we definitely have a big year coming up.”
“At the Congress, we will have a bunch of new items, especially lots of winter jackets, because they’re calling for a very harsh winter. We recently went out to Las Vegas to pick out some fun tops for the new fall looks.”
In addition, fans can look forward to new baseball cap styles for both women and men as well as the introduction of fun, neon colors in truck and trailer decals and stickers.
Although Good Ride will maintain a definite presence in the horse show world, the Johnson family is looking forward to expanding to include the motorcycle-riding crowd as well.
“Once you show at this level, it’s always in your blood,” she says. “My husband is newly retired from the military, and we have had the opportunity to travel more. This fits in well with our lifestyle right now. I get my horse fix, and we get to travel.”
“We also love to ride motorcycles, so we hope to eventually bring Good Ride [to that crowd]. Good Ride can relate to anyone’s hobbies. Anything can be a Good Ride, from riding your horse or motorcycle to surfing or skiing; anybody can relate to having a Good Ride.”
