2021 AQHA VRH World and RHC Finals Qualifying

Based on an extensive comparison of the qualifying data and discussions with AQHA alliance partner the National Ranch and Stock Horse Alliance, AQHA Show Council, AQHA Affiliate Advisory Board and affiliates, the AQHA Executive Committee has waived the qualification requirements for the 2021 AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse World Championships and AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals, slated for June 22-27, 2021, at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma. NRSHA also made the decision to waive qualifying requirements for the 2021 NRSHA National Championships, held in conjunction with the AQHA VRH World.

2020 FL Gold Coast Recap- 13,500 AQHA Entries

An Equine Production show management has reported a banner year for the 2020 Florida Gold Coast that recently concluded in Tampa, Florida. With stalls at a count of 1,200, entries up 600 per judge, and a total of 13,500 AQHA entries with an increase of more than 3,500 AQHA entries over 2019, that’s a clear indication that competitors are enjoying the balmy, Floridian, winter weather.

“For state directors, the general membership meeting is mandatory. We don’t want to risk the health and well being of our members who may have underlying health conditions,” APHA President Casey West said. “We also don’t want to unnecessarily contribute to the spread of COVID-19 by meeting in close proximity where social distancing will be difficult, if not impossible, to maintain.”

“The decision to waive traditional qualifying for the 2021 Ford Youth World was based on extensive discussion, comparison of previous years’ qualifying data and the cancellation of approximately 30% of the qualifying shows since May 1, 2020, when the qualifying period began,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “We anticipate continued effects of the pandemic, especially in the harder hit areas of the world where many lockdowns remain in place.”
